Crypto Currently

Hey fam! Let's talk about cryptocurrency. One of the biggest game changers in how we view and think about money. Most people have heard the word crypto but don't actually know what it is. In short, it is a digital form of money that isn't run by banks or the government. It is already changing the financial world, so get one foot in the door and learn about it today!

What Even is Crypto?

In a nutshell, cryptocurrency is a digital currency that is run by a system known as blockchain. Unlike money you have in a bank account, there is now single company or government in control of your money. Instead, it is run by a network of computers worldwide. This is how you may have heard the phrase "mining for crypto" before.

The Two Big Names in the Crypto World:

Bitcoin (BTC) -- This is the first and most well-known crypto. Bitcoin was founded in 2009 by an unknown person, or possibly a group of people, going by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. To this day, the individual or group is unidentified and they still own a large amount of Bitcoin.

Ethereum (ETH) -- Ethereum is a little different than Bitcoin. It was co-founded in 2015 by Vitalik Buterin and is still used today as a way to make smart contracts online without a middle-man. It is still a cryptocurrency that has been doing well and many use it to trade and invest to increase personal profit.

How Does Crypto Work?

Crypto is a mix of a bank account, an investment, and an innovative tech project all in one.

Here's why people are so into it:
  • No banks involved -- You can send and receive crypto without a middleman.
  • Fast and global -- It doesn't matter where you live, you can trade crypto anywhere.
  • Limited supply -- Unlike regular money, which governments can print more of, some cryptos (like Bitcoin) have a limit on how much can exist.

Why Does it Matter?

Crypto isn't just some internet fad for nerds, it is already changing the way we invest, send money and even buy things. Some companies accept Bitcoin as payment, and entire countries like El Salvador are making it a part of their economy.

I'll be diving deeper into Bitcoin in a later post, so stay tuned! 💕
